Euphonixは80年代・90年代のエレクトロニカシーンに影響を受け、そのノスタルジックな世界観を持った楽曲を作り続けています。彼のセカンドアルバムは約2年ぶりのリリースとなり、映画音楽や舞台音楽などでも作詞活動を展開するクリス・モズデルが作詞を担当しています。このアルバムはビンテージシンセサイザーを多用し、YMOの中期や1980年代のエレクトロニクスミュージックを彷彿させるエレクトロニクスサウンドに仕上がっています。また、リード曲の「スペースシップ ヘッド」は最新のデジタルヒューマン技術を駆使したSF映画風のミュージック・ビデオと連動しています。全体を通じて、往年のYMOやエレクトロニカファンには是非聴いていただきたい一枚となっています。
Euphonix is influenced by the electronica scene of the 80's and 90's and continues to create music with that nostalgic world view. His second album will be released for the first time in about two years, and the lyrics are written by Chris Mosdell, who has provided lyrics to famous musicians such as YMO, and has also written music for movies and stage music. This album makes extensive use of vintage synthesizers, creating an electronic sound reminiscent of YMO's mid-term and 1980s electronic music. In addition, the lead song "Spaceship Head" is linked with a sci-fi movie-like music video that makes full use of the latest digital human technology. All in all, it's a must-listen for YMO and electronica fans of yesteryear.
